Celtic English Academy is proud to announce that it has been certified as Carbon Neutral by Carbon Neutral Britain. This achievement underscores our commitment to environmental sustainability, reflecting our dedication to balancing our emissions while supporting communities and ecosystems around the world.
Investing in carbon offset projects is a vital step towards addressing climate change. By participating in these projects, businesses and individuals can neutralise their carbon footprint while contributing to sustainable development globally. The projects supported by Celtic English Academy are certified to the highest standards, ensuring their effectiveness and credibility.
All carbon offsetting projects endorsed by Carbon Neutral Britain adhere to the stringent requirements of the Verra – Verified Carbon Standard (VCS), the Gold Standard – Voluntary Emission Reductions (VER), and the United Nations – Certified Emission Reductions (CER) programmes. These are the three most prominent and regulated carbon offsetting standards worldwide. They guarantee that the measurement of carbon dioxide equivalents (CO₂e) offset is both precise and verified.

Celtic English Academy is proud to support a range of impactful carbon offsetting projects through our partnership with Carbon Neutral Britain. These projects not only contribute to reducing global carbon emissions but also provide significant social and economic benefits to local communities. Here is an overview of the projects we are involved in:
The Elazig Solar Farm is a pioneering ‘high efficiency’ solar energy project in Turkey, selected for its potential to deliver sustainable energy solutions in a nation that heavily relies on fossil fuels. By supplying clean renewable energy to the Turkish National Grid, the project helps avoid greenhouse gas emissions that would otherwise result from burning fossil fuels. This initiative is crucial in a country facing an energy deficit, aiming to contribute to reducing emissions while offering economic stability and ensuring a reliable energy supply across Turkey.
Chosen for its profound social benefits, this project provides solar lighting to families in Zambia without access to electricity. By delivering affordable and clean lighting solutions, families can enjoy safer and more productive home environments. The project replaces inefficient and carbon-intensive kerosene lamps and fireplaces with solar lighting, significantly reducing carbon emissions and improving the quality of life for families, enabling children to study and families to cook and socialise safely at home.
The Wind Power project in Karnataka, India, generates renewable electricity through wind electric generators (WEGs) in an area where energy would typically come from fossil fuels. The construction and operation of this wind farm supply the Karnataka state electricity grid, which is part of the Southern Regional Electricity Grid of India. This project not only provides a clean energy source but also offers economic benefits by reducing dependency on fossil fuels and promoting sustainable energy development in the region.
Salkhit Wind Farm is Mongolia’s first grid-connected wind energy project. It generates renewable electricity using wind turbines and supplies power to the Mongolian central grid, helping meet the region’s growing electricity demand. As the first of its kind in Mongolia, the Salkhit Wind Farm plays a pivotal role in building technical knowledge and expertise, paving the way for future renewable energy developments across the country.
Carbon Neutral Britain is dedicated to providing 100% verified carbon credits with full transparency. The projects they support are regulated, verified, and audited by third parties, ensuring that their impact is tangible and meaningful. The carbon credits utilised by Carbon Neutral Britain are identical to those employed by multinational corporations and countries in their emission reduction schemes, providing assurance that the projects are vital and that emissions reductions are accurate.
As one of the few organisations in the UK offering Independent Validation and Assurance of each carbon offsetting project, Carbon Neutral Britain goes beyond standard requirements by conducting enhanced audits and continuous project monitoring. Their rigorous validation process includes:
Trust and transparency are at the core of Carbon Neutral Britain’s values, ensuring that 80% of their subscription budget directly supports tree planting and offsetting projects. This commitment maximises the positive environmental impact while maintaining efficient administrative and fundraising practices.
